Dr Dylan Powell
Dylan Powell is an Assistant Professor (Lecturer) in Public Health & Innovation at the University of Stirling within the faculty of Health Sciences & Sport.
Excited by the value of technology, data and innovation in health care and life sciences to optimise care and wellbeing for patients and society. Prior to joining the University, Dylan worked for Deloitte Healthcare and Life Sciences practice and Knowledge Sharing lead for the UK Deloitte Clinical Network. Dylan’s professional background as a clinician (Physiotherapist) and researcher has spanned the NHS, academia, professional sport, and within industry. His PhD in Computer Science explored the use of wearables and digital biomarkers in neurological conditions including Sports-Related Concussion.
Dylan was appointed to the editorial team at Nature Digital Medicine (News & Views) in September 2023.
Dr Aiden Hannah
Aiden is a medical device engineer and public health information analyst with extensive experience of biosensor development, health data analytics and research. He is particularly interested in improving access to care through innovative technologies.
He has a strong technical knowledge of medical devices, diagnostics and digital healthcare, and holds an Engineering Doctorate (EngD) in Medical Devices. He has experience across the public sector, private sector and academia, undertaking a wide range of multidisciplinary projects including clinical research.
Renske Emicke
Renske graduated with a B.Sc in Occupational Therapy from the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and am currently in the final year of my MRes Health Research at Stirling University. Renske strongly believes that the field of health science is undergoing significant transformation. My motivation lies in exploring the integration and empowerment of (digital) innovation within health science and higher education.
Oliver Oxbury
Olly is a final year MRes Health Research student at the University of Stirling, with a particular interest in technology in healthcare and clinician wellbeing. Prior to this Olly completed Bachelor of Science degrees in Biological Sciences and Paramedic Practice before working as a paramedic for East of England Ambulance Service. Olly gained his Advanced Care Paramedic licence in British Columbia in 2019, moving to Vancouver in 2020, and is now working as Program Manager for the Advanced Care Paramedic program at the Justice Institute of British Columbia.
Henry Bunclark
I’m Henry, a PhD student at the University of Exeter in Sports and Health Sciences. My research is part of the Royal Naval Musculoskeletal Mitigation Programme which aims to reduce injuries and improve the health of our service personnel. In particular, I have an interest in exploring risk factors for overuse injuries and modelling the stresses related to tibial stress fractures in tactical populations. My professional background is as a physiotherapist where I have a passion for community rehabilitation and inclusive health promotion."
Katie Robertson
Katie is a final year BSc (Hons) Neuroscience student at the University of Edinburgh. I'm deeply passionate about unravelling the long-term effects of traumatic brain injury and its connection to brain health and cognitive decline in later life. Alongside having a background in elite sport, I have recent experience in sport-related concussion research and I believe that advances in medical innovations and digital medicine are instrumental in shaping the future of diagnostic strategies in traumatic brain injury.
